UACES’s long-term partnership with POLITICO’s EU Studies & Career Fair
For many years, UACES has attended the POLITICO’s EU Studies & Career Fair – a fair that brings together universities, students and professionals in the field of European Studies. We were lucky enough to attend several fairs along some of UACES group members and other universities and institutions.
The University of Bath, the University of Leiden, UCL, LSE, CIFE, College of Europe and the Institute for European Studies at VUB are just a few UACES group members who attended the fair with us and who will be there this year again to inform interested students and young professionals about their possibilities and options for the future.
Interactive seminars, workshops and other activities inspire and help students and young professionals to pursue a career or further study in the field of European Studies, economics, law and politics. At the 2020 fair, UACES Chair Nicholas Startin gave a talk on ‘How to make the right choice of EU Studies’ and it was very well received. Finishing with a Q&A he was able to guide potential students on how to choose the right programme, where to find options and how UACES is supporting student members and early career researchers (ECRs) along their journey.
We have met many young people who were looking for their next career step, master programmes or networking opportunities. We met representatives of small initiatives who produce blogs and podcasts about Europe and European Studies and connected with the next generation of European Studies scholars.
This year, we are excited to attend virtually for the first time, along with some of our long-time group members. We are looking forward to connecting with young individuals and professionals again and meet colleagues and members online. UACES Chair Nicholas Startin will deliver a speech and help to guide young scholars, researchers and professionals in their career choices.
